Bluesky adds direct links to creators’ profiles

Profile links let visitors open a creator’s website, newsletter or support page directly from Bluesky.

Bluesky announced profile links on 22 October. Creators can place links below their bio so visitors can reach a website, newsletter or other account without opening a separate link-directory page. [1]

Links to services such as Patreon and Ko-fi receive green buttons that lead to the creator’s existing payment page. Users can add titles and reorder links through Edit Profile. Bluesky described memberships that work across apps as a future area to explore, rather than a feature available with this release. [1]

TCE’s view

For creators with a newsletter or portfolio, the useful change is a shorter route from discovery to their own work. Choose a clear destination and label it plainly. Before promoting a campaign, check that the linked page is current and works on mobile.

Sources and context

The announcement does not quantify traffic or subscription gains. Payments still take place through the linked services.
