TikTok details brand-work options for South African creators
Reporting from TikTok’s Johannesburg briefing explains routes into paid brand work, while leaving local payout totals and campaign earnings unconfirmed.

TikTok used its 22 September briefing in Johannesburg to discuss how South African creators can find commercial work through TikTok One. Recharged’s reporting describes opportunities involving existing videos, responses to brand briefs and agency-supported campaigns. [1][2]
Recharged reports that TikTok One launched locally in the first quarter of 2026. The September briefing should therefore not be read as its first local launch. The report also says authorising or publishing content does not itself guarantee payment: the advertiser must activate the relevant ad opportunity. [1]
TCE’s view
Creators and brand teams should agree on the payment trigger before production starts. A performance-based opportunity and a fixed production fee are different arrangements. Put deliverables, usage permission and payment timing in writing before treating a platform invitation as a confirmed booking.
